This is our slogan simply because it is true. The Dance Center has not only remained competitive in today's fast growing dance field, but we have remained true to our vision. We strive to give every student that enrolls at our studio the best dance education anywhere; we do this by hiring only the best instructors for your students. Our
instructors are professionals in their field and are all wonderful choreographers on top of their technical teaching abilities. The Dance Center also prides itself on maintaining it's conservative approach to dancing. As you view other studios and compare the local dance schools, you will find that we do not conform so much as to what is popular at any cost, but we put the education of dance first. We do not perform sexually suggestive moves, we keep all of our classes age appropriate, and are proud to be one of the top award winning schools in Colorado Springs despite not lowering our standards for higher scores at competitions. We may not look like everyone else, but we are always artistic, original, and creative in what we use to represent our studio at any venue.

The Dance Center opened its doors on April 1, 1979 providing Colorado Springs with one of its first professional dance studios. Now in our 29th season, the school has developed into the area’s premier dance training institution, expanding its curriculum and faculty to meet a growing demand. In August of 1990 we proudly opened our new custom built studios at 4444 Barnes Road. Our studio features state-of-the-art raised and cushioned hardwood dance floors, and large viewing windows for parents. The Dance Center has continued to grow in all of our years in business, despite the ever-growing number of dance studios in and around Colorado Springs.
Our mission is to provide a quality dance experience for each student. It is our philosophy and commitment to educate all students, consistent with their abilities and goals. This education will contribute to a sense of personal worth, independence, emotional maturity, and self-confidence. We at The Dance Center are very pleased with the success of this program, having developed professional dancers and teachers who are now making their own significant contributions to the art of dance.
The Dance Center practices a policy of open enrollment. Students are accepted into our classes without regard to sex, race, religion, or nationality. We are confident that you will find The Dance Center a quality choice for you and your family. We pledge to provide each student with a safe, pleasant, and well-rounded dance education, where the dancer can develop at his/her own pace with the professional training and support of our instructors and administrative staff.
Your involvement in our programs is essential. Newsletters will be sent home with students each month throughout the year to keep you informed of studio activities, events, and deadlines. Inside our upstairs lobby you will find the Information Center with current information such as newsletters, schedules, calendars. There are also constant updates on our memo boards.
